The summergamedev has started!!

I applied and got accepted for the summergamedev week organised by the dutch game garden.
So far it has been a very interesting week. Got to hear some very interesting presentations by Jan Pieter van Seventer, Ronimo games and a game designer from Guerilla games about designing games.
Learned a few interesting things from the guerilla design workflow and their production pipeline. It just generally gave me a better idea of the role devision in a major games company.

Had a very hectic day of designing today but that's good as far as I'm concerned. The more we manage to get on one line in the first days the better chance of a smooth production. Last thing I want is that the design has to be completely changed in the last 2 days.

I like the design we have so far but I do feel it lacks something that makes it it's own experience. I'm gonna focus on the implementation of the game mechanics uses for now and try out different level designs. Boredom and stellar gameplay is my main concern right now. We'll see how I feel about that after tomorrow ^^.
